Business process modeling provides a way of visualizing the often-complex workflows within an organization. The idea is to create a graphical representation of business processes that describes activities and their interdependencies. The resulting diagram reveals inefficiencies and areas for improvement.  Vercom has been working to define the processes within PRIMAC as services to streamline the way processes are managed within the application, opening up a world of possibilities.  This session will focus on what Vercom has completed and how these changes will benefit the users.

Menu and User Manager (MUM)
General Session
  Presenter:  Markku Kesala
  Duration: 1½ Hours
  Date/Time:  Thursday 10/19/2006
1:00 PM - 2:30 PM
Menu & User Manager (MUM) is a stand-alone Windows application that provides easy access to menus and user configuration.  MUM is designed to interface with Legacy-based ERP systems like PRIMAC.  MUM has its own database that you can use to import and export menus and users from/to the ERP system. It doesn’t replace the ERP system but rather answers questions like “Who has access to what menu item?” and “Where is a certain function located in the menus?”

One of MUM's most convenient features is that it allows you to navigate thru the complex PRIMAC menu system via Windows Tree View control.  With MUM, you can expand and minimize menus and see the hierarchical relationships of every menu item at once.

There are two versions of MUM.  One is read-only.  This version will be helpful to all employees working with the PRIMAC system because it allows you to navigate PRIMAC menus and find the applications or reports you are looking for in just a few seconds.  It will help new employees find where the menu items are in PRIMAC they need to get to or that report you only run once in a while and can’t remember exactly where in the menus it is located in. It can also be used by management and auditors to verify that the right employees have the menu access they need and confidential menu items have not been exposed to too many employees.

The other version is the maintenance version.  This version provides all the information that the read-only version does.  It also allows you to make changes to user menu access and then export the data back to the ERP system.  The maintenance version will be an excellent tool for administrators to control and easily change user access options.

GS-10
ePRIMAC Technical
General Session
  Presenter:  Vercom
  Duration: 1½ Hours
  Date/Time:  Thursday 10/19/2006
3:00 PM - 4:30 PM
ePRIMAC has been implemented live at the Standard Register facility in Monterrey, Mexico.  Come discuss the technical aspects of ePRIMAC and what would be required to migrate to ePRIMAC from your current environment.

ePRIMAC uses IBM's Redback as a COM object to connect to the IBM U2 database and MS IIS as the webpage server and a mixture of Microsoft ASP, XML and JavaScript to create a webpage for each existing Primac screen.  The underlying file structures, reporting, and business logic processes do not change from Rev 12. Topics covered will include;
Demonstrate Redback - As the primary tool for creating the objects required for ePRIMAC, demonstrate some of the tool’s functionality.
“Mr Customer” - Discuss setup required to keep customer change separate in ePRIMAC.
Demonstrate Change - Outline and execute the steps required to make a simple customer modification.
Training Agenda - Review a Hand out of the agenda for the formal e-Primac technical training.
