NS-01
e-Primac Unwrapped
Networking Session
  Presenter:  Jihad Yamout
  Duration: ½ Day
  Date/Time:  Monday 10/20/2003
8:00 AM - 11:30 AM
e-Primac is a web browser user interface to the Primac system. This session will cover features of the new e-Primac and why Primac users should plan on migrating to it. Release 12 is the foundation release underneath e-Primac, so migrating to e-Primac will have different ramifications, depending on the release in use.
e-Primac uses IBM’s Redback as a COM object to connect to the IBM U2 database and MS IIS as the webpage server and a mixture of Microsoft ASP, XML and JavaScript to create a webpage for each existing Primac screen. The underlying file structures, reporting, and business logic processes do not change from Rev 12.

Topics covered will include:

Road map of the sequence of events for migrating to e-Primac from 10A, 10B, 11, or 12. From this, you will be able to determine your starting point for moving forward.
Rules of thumb for sizing the web-server on which e-Primac will reside - most likely a separate server from your main PRIMAC server; web server software required, Redback licenses.
Technical considerations – bringing user-written modifications forward; customization of e-Primac

PD
Panel Discussions
The goal of this year’s Panels is a little different from previous years. Not only will we discuss what is working, but we’ll also discuss what is not working and how the system needs to be changed to take PRIMAC to the next level.

From each session we will be compiling the top 5 suggestions / recommendations that are needed to take PRIMAC to the next level. All of the suggestions and recommendations will be prioritized at the PUG Business Meeting. The final prioritized list will be given to Vercom. Once Vercom knows the amount of annual PMR revenues for 2004, it will be able to commit a defined portion of that toward these PUG requested projects. Vercom is committed to reviewing and sizing each project, then developing the most important ones first. Vercom’s R&D priorities are a based on not only PUG input, but also market trends, and competitive offerings and directions. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to express your ideas!
